Hi! Thank you for sharing your perceptions here on Glassdoor. I am happy to see that you have enjoyed our flexible work from anywhere program, worked on exciting MedComms projects, experienced a strong and warm company culture, and feel that you were onboarded properly and professionally! I can imagine that for someone starting out in the agency world, it can be tough to get used to tracking your time. The reality is that this is important for most, if not all, professional services providers. We are however clear about this already during the interview process, so that anyone joining our team knows that this is part of the job. We are also supportive in helping new joiners to get used to this, and to ensure it does not become a stressful experience. I am sorry to hear that this didn't work out as intended in your situation. Pros

The coworkers were very helpful and nice. They have a very good and intense training system so you will literally be set up for success.

Cons

Often times it seems like management has no idea what they are doing. The NYC office isn't a priority to them. They have trouble finding resources and often times you're fighting with other account teams in order to get people to work on projects. They also fire people on the spot and do everything possible to ensure they no longer have to give you money (paying out sick/vacation time).

Hi! Thank you for leaving a review here, albeit not a very positive one. I am sorry to hear that you have had such a negative experience, and hope that you have found a better fitting position in the meantime. I would like to clarify a few points: 1) Companies with a management that don't know what they are doing, are typically not fast-growing successful companies like us. However, fast growth sometimes results in situations where we can't communicate quickly and effective enough to keep everyone on the same page. This is what might have happened here. 2) We do not fire people "on the spot", other than in exceptional cases (i.e. severe misconduct). We always strive to live our core value of Caring Deeply in any situation. Terrible company to work for

Pros

There are some kind people that are willing to help you. Benefits are okay.

Cons

Micromanagement on how work is done and unethical behaviors in the workplace. Specifics won't be given here. Upper management is disrespectful which encourages a toxic work environment. Rumors travel fast and there are staff members that bully others and get away with it. Management doesn't do anything about it and will pretend to care, but all they care about are themselves and their own promotional gains. High employee turnover.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. At Medicalwriters.com, we try to do everything we possibly can to Care Deeply, one of our five Core Values. If there are lots of rumors and gossip in the background, you are right that this can create a toxic work environment. The Management Team tries to squash gossip as soon as we hear it, and we appreciate when employees bring rumors forward. We provide ample opportunity for every individual to provide feedback, and are acting upon feedback proactively, consistently, and rigorously. You are also right to call out micromanagement. At Medicalwriters.com, we try to allow people autonomy and freedom in their work, and we encourage people to Be Actively Present (another one of our Core Values). We aim to build a culture of transparency, listening to feedback, and taking action as soon as possible. Which is why when 2021 survey responses from employees showed that our staff would like more career conversations and growth within the company, we listened. In Q1 2022 alone, we recognized and rewarded lots of deserving employees based on merit. We promoted 8 people internally, almost 15% of our entire workforce! Our company culture is very important to me, and you can read more about my vision on cultivating a great company culture here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/our-journey-cultivate-great-company-culture-wesley-portegies/ I sincerely hope you are able to remember some positive aspects of your time with us. We wish you all the best in the next chapter of your career journey.
