Sometimes the workload was a bit uneven, and lots of turnover for lower positions meaning constant training in of new members of staff

Not as such I found in organisation

Busy heavy workload but what job isn’t?! Gets quite hot in the office.

Some managers not very fit for the role, As of 2020: inequality between oversees and domestic branch in terms of opportunities and treatment by the management (oversees being inferior), lack of training standards accross the company. Everyone is forced to take external phones after some time.

Very poor management from top to bottom, to my knowledge, most of the managers there did not hold any type of a management qualification and it was quite evident. Very poor communication, you didn't know if you were ever doing a good job and you certainly didn't know you were doing a bad job until it was too late. I personally took on extra work during my time there to help meet tight deadlines and was never shown any gratitude. You were expected to stay past working hours and never given any appreciation, instead you got the cold shoulder if you left at the time you were contracted to. Given the type of work that it was, it should have been very straight forward to convey objectives and have formal training, but even this was lacking. No incentives either to progress your career there, no pathways to achieving further qualifications, during my period here the staff turnover was huge given the office size (over 8 people left) which should have been a sign to management. I would absolutely not recommend Medserv to a friend, if you are looking for a career based in this area you are better off working directly under a consultant or in a hospital.

- Constant negativity and gossiping from management - No support or communication - No positive reinforcement, manager just messages the team chat whenever someone makes a mistake - No team atmosphere, left to work on your own in silence 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. - Low salary and no way to progress - Constant turnover - Tedious and frustrating work, with no redeeming qualities

Problems from up above, so much micromanaging. Gossipy and negative atmosphere. Staff are penalised for minor things but absolutely swomped with work. Company gives each secretary about 20 consultants each whilst choosing to take on doctors that require a lot of attention to detail and hard work! Also you’re expected to answer the phone minimum 30 calls a day. Are staff robots? Unfortunately the company does not care about staff what so ever. This is how it comes across. Management will continue to take on more and more consultants knowing FULL WELL the company does NOT have capacity. When people are off sick or on holiday your supervisor will share out the consultants with no training. If you are off sick or need an appointment there is no support, your manager will not care and will just question staff’s ability for the role. So if you are having health problems expect no support. Managers are in meetings every 5 minutes and do not support secretaries. Massive turn over of staff about 10 people had either left or been let go in the space of 1 year. The list could go on and on.

Workload could get quite heavy, but managers never expected you to put in any more than they did.
