Pros

Some friendly coworkers. Patients are so sweet.

Cons

Managers are quick to blame and want you to be cursed out by patients and demand they are seen no matter what. It’s all about the money. They don’t care about their staff.

Pros

Some of the people who worked there while I was employed at Mercy Joplin were amazing. I made lifelong friends while working there.

Cons

Significant daily discrimination from many coworkers in multiple departments on basis of race, ethnicity, financial status, age, sexuality, gender identity, political opinion/affiliation, and religious beliefs. Consistent focus from leadership on making money for the hospital and discharging patients as rapidly as possible rather than prioritizing appropriate and safe patient care. Regular undermining by leaders of persons in their own departments. Zero assistance offered by care management supervisors when understaffed. Flagrant favoritism.
