Pros

A lot of responsibility, access to high-tech software, exposure to economics and finance of the fields. There are some very respectable people in management you'd be lucky to work for.

Cons

If you aren't lucky enough to work for the few very respectable managers then you may have a hard time advancing unless you are very political. It is a very glass-ceiling company. Ask around. You're either from the right school or schmoozing the right boss to move up. When I worked there I found myself working early, over lunch, and working late or over the weekends to get ahead. I burned out after a few years.

Pros

Good place to use as a stepping stone to get to a bigger player in the Oil and Gas field. Competitive wages, real good health insurance, good 401K, new vehicles in the fleet.

Cons

Terrible work schedule,(6-2) only off every fifth weekend (hard for a family with school age kids), must go through the lead pumper to get any tools or parts needed to get the job done, tools that are bought are cheaply made and break, young inexperianced lead that manages by intimidation not by teaching and helping. There is no discussion about issues, it is simply "I'm the boss, it's my way!

Pros

I had good local supervisors in the same office they would do anything you asked. Benefits were good days off were nice.

Cons

Major Major lack of communication from liberal office. Thier production reporting was overwhelming you would spend 2 hrs a day putting in data, and then no one even looked when we had problems with wells so you wasted time entering all these comments. Because the next day you would spend half the day with 5 different people explaining to each one what was going on. Instead of explaining to one person and them sending a email we was working in the stone age no laptops just desktop at office.
