Pros

- Strong work/life balance - Get to go home at 3:30pm on Fridays

Cons

- Infighting among upper management requires subordinates to strategize around them. Upper management secretly speaks negatively of each other to subordinates - Employee morale is generally low - Work environment is conservative - It's not safe to be LGBT here - Pay is bad. No annual bonuses, and annual raise is nonexistent or less than the rate of inflation - Strong "stay in your lane and keep your head down" attitude among employees. This is not their fault -- it's the result of the environment created by management - Work hours are rigid

Respectfully this post does not represent our Company, our culture or our Values. This post was left by a disgruntled former employee who worked for us for less than 5 months and went to lunch and never came back after having a single disagreement with her boss over a process improvement she wanted but we couldn't implement for a few months due to budgetary constraints. Just an observation, but If the pay was so bad why did she actually accept the offer and relocate from another city to take the job? This employee again was not here long enough to get an annual bonus or a raise so her comments there are disingenuous at best and for the record we do provide both. Her LGBT comment is equally false as some of our best and most respected team mates identify as LGBTQ including in mngt. The reality is we simply don't care about ones sexual orientation and we do not discriminate. We care that our company is full of kind and decent people who respect each other. We value the Individual and have an extremely diverse staff who work smart and care and support each other every day. If you want to work for a Company that values you, rewards you for the efforts you put in and has your back when the chips are down then I assure you Messer is the company for you.

Pros

Some of the staff is nice.

Cons

Very unorganized, work is passed from department to department and usually lands in one place. You will not receive a job description, so that they have the freedom to load you up with tasks on a whim. Lots of nepotism, racial discrimination, and favoritism take place here. Run the other way if you are a woman, BIPOC, or LGBTQ you will not be treated with respect or paid fairly. Upper management will belittle you at every turn. You will be expected to overwork yourself and sacrifice your personal life only to be paid poorly on the “back end”. Their Human Resources department is a joke and will expose your personal information, denigrate you and pester you about the smallest things but is non existent when serious issues arise.

This review does not accurately describe our company or the experiences of our employees. Do not let one former disgruntled employee’s inaccurate statements keep you from the opportunities employment with us can provide. Our leadership and our team members value diversity and work hard to create a supportive and inclusive environment. We employ, value and respect all individuals and their unique backgrounds, characteristics and experiences. Such diversity in our organization is among the keys to our success. We have responsive and supportive Human Resources personnel and managers who care about the work/life balance of our employees. Our environment is fast-paced and well-suited to those who work diligently and thrive on multi-tasking. If that is you, a career with us would be rewarding and fulfilling.
