Pros

Office location is somewhat scenic

Cons

The only interest of the firm/solo partner is making as much money as possible for himself. This is achieved by regularly raising rates for clients without increasing pay for working attorneys and by penalizing contract/working attorneys based on an arbitrary system. The penalty system is a set of abusive deadlines for working/contract attorneys that is unassociated with actual legal deadlines. The system is obviously designed to pay employees and contractors as little as possible for their work. There is ZERO opportunity for growth. Partnership opportunity was offered at hiring and then unilaterally withdrawn bait-and-switch style. Firm automation is unrefined - causing issues in multiple critical areas including client billing which will negatively impact your clients and will give them good reason to leave. Firm offers no bonuses or raises. Firm offers minimal to no benefits. No transparency into firm financial well-being and trajectory. Firm is slow to provide necessary tax information or does not provide required tax information to contractors/working attorneys.

Pros

Salary was competitive when I started, benefits were great, felt like I was on the right track.

Cons

Went downhill very fast. Pay got WORSE, and owner baited attorneys with potential partnership, then took it away once the attorneys were stuck.
