Cons
I left a stable, successful position elsewhere to join this company because I was promised better hours, better benefits, and a healthier work environment. None of that was true. From day one, it was clear leadership had no interest in professionalism, fairness, or integrity. The culture is toxic and driven by fear, favoritism, and retaliation. As part of my role, I was explicitly instructed to maintain accurate daily notes documenting operations and staff performance. When I held the executive chef and sous chef accountable in those notes, they both had hostile outbursts. Rather than addressing their behavior or supporting me as a manager, leadership terminated me without any warning, write-up, or documented performance issue—just pure retaliation. There is no legitimate HR process. Complaints are ignored or punished, not investigated. If you aren’t part of the favored inner circle, you are disposable. Communication is poor to nonexistent, and accountability only flows one way—down. Leadership takes no responsibility for the culture they’ve created. Unsurprisingly, turnover is extremely high because competent people don’t tolerate being treated this way for long.
