Pros

Pros: 1.) Overtime (always) 2.) You can listen to music (to tune out the attorney yapping) 3.) Spellcheck on our outdated software 4.) Weekends and holidays off - duh 5.) Meager bonuses to compensate for meager wages 6.) Benefits

Cons

1.) Attorneys can't communicate with their paralegals like normal individuals. They're on the higher spectrum of socially awkward 2.) Turnover is too high to make new friends 3.) Pay is awful 4.) Software is outdated 5.) Printers break 6.) High demand of work 7.) The attorneys create a mountain out of a molehill when it comes to communicating directly with the client 8.) HR is terrible at responding to urgent requests 9.) Attorney doesn't even know client rules and treats me like an idiot when I contradict their opinion - even though I'm right 10.) Toxic, toxic, toxic

Pros

The company offers average benefits, rapid accrual of PTO, an opportunity to learn, and a start in a legal career.

Cons

The company refuses to adapt to modern times of the hybrid schedule alongside with low pay even with experience. The partners of the firm say they will listen, but unfortunately that seems to be just words. High employment turnover rate which in return equals overworked employees completing 3 people’s jobs. The 401k isn’t transparent nor can it be monitored. People aren’t crossed trained to fill one’s position while on vacation and the work from home isn’t a possibility to alleviate the madhouse that occurs when one comes back. Attorneys are expected to always be available even when on vacation. The work and home life balance doesn’t exist either.

Pros

Good for new people in the field. Gives a stepping stone to move on as well as experience.

Cons

Mentally exhausting and toxic. You are overworked and under paid. The work/life balance is extremely difficult. The Covid policy is absolutely awful. If you get sick and your family gets sick, be prepared to go weeks with no pay. Sadly, the pandemic showed the firm’s true colors. Workers were at home barely making ends meet with reduced hours while the partners were able to take trips, vacations and still have company cars. The partners attempted to make things better by offering raises but the raises were mediocre. Turn over is high due to the mismanagement of people. People don’t quit jobs. They quit management.
