Pros

Work from home 2-3 days per week. Nice co-workers. Office is nice.

Cons

Case loads are unrealistically high. Serious turn over in staff results in extra coverage cases, on top of already unrealistic number of cases. Quantity over quality atmosphere at the expense of case manager mental health, and client health and safety. Despite the increased reimbursement rate for case management services, recent job postings show a decrease in entry salary by several thousand dollars. Case managers voiced concerns about being over worked and the response was tacking on 1 extra floating holiday per year before turning around and accepting a new county contract for a different type of waiver that resulted in cutting the teams which were already short staffed and having difficulty hiring and retaining staff. Staff "life expectancy" at this job is less than 1 year. Upper management often commented that the case manager role was a "revolving door job" without any commitment to fix this. If you make it more than a year you've beat the system.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us a little more about your experience here at MNBIA. We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to the needs of our employees such as adjusting the unit requirement when feedback was given that it was too high. Reciprocally, when job expectations are modified, modifications to the entire position result. This allows the organization to maintain stability for the organization and job security for the employees. Again, thank you for providing feedback so we can continue to improve our organization!

Pros

Flexible schedule and ability to work from home. Fellow case managers are enjoyable to work with and helpful.

Cons

BIA overworks their case managers with large caseloads and high unit expectations. Even on days with mandatory trainings and meetings, the unit expectation is the same despite it limiting your hours to get the work done. This also applies if the computers or phone lines go down and when completing unbillable work. Case managers are forced to concentrate on quantity over quality. Upper management doesn’t step in to help or relieve case managers during times of need. Concerns, ideas, solutions etc fall on deaf ears.

Pros

free coffee in the office

Cons

DO NOT WORK HERE. This agency is completely driven my money instead of employee/client satisfaction. Turnover is incredibly high. Upper management is unethical and far removed from the actual work. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS AGENCY.
