Supportive leadership, but unprofessional office environment persists

The technicians were friendly and easy to work with, and the role itself was relatively straightforward and manageable. Gerhard and Eddie were both supportive and great to work under. Overall, the office environment was positive, though there were occasional challenges with consistency in staff demeanor and mutual respect.

The company appeared to prioritize a “family-style” atmosphere over a more structured and consistently professional work environment. Gerhard and Eddie were both approachable and supportive, and they were excellent leaders to work with. The technicians were also respectful and generally easy to collaborate with. However, there seemed to be a noticeable divide between the office staff and the technicians. At times, the office environment felt unprofessional, with instances of negative communication regarding technicians, customers, and callers. It was also unfortunate to observe that some employees frequently spoke negatively about management, even when leadership made efforts to be supportive and go above and beyond. Training resources were limited, and much of the onboarding process relied on personal note-taking. There was often an expectation to understand procedures without sufficient training or clear communication. Additionally, direction from office staff was not always consistent, which could lead to confusion. Toward the end of my time there, performance expectations felt inconsistently applied, with close scrutiny of some employees’ work while similar mistakes within the office team were overlooked. Questions were sometimes met with unhelpful responses, and efforts to take initiative were occasionally discouraged or redirected. Concerns were brought to office management and acknowledged, with assurances that the issues would be addressed. However, the overall experience suggested opportunities for improvement in communication, training, and maintaining a consistently professional workplace culture. Do not request time off, or if you do, DO NOT give them information as to what you are doing (they will use this to decide IF they will give you the time off). Doctors appointments are likely to be approved, any family events, extracurricular activities, celebrations will not be approved. Just say its for an appointment or that its personal.
