Toxic work culture with politics, favoritism, zero professionalism and huge resistance to change
Pros
Well-known brand in the fresh retail bakery market in Kolkata. Overall good brand value with good products at reasonable prices available across many shops all over Kolkata and the rest of West Bengal.
Cons
Pathetic work culture with zero professionalism, huge politics and minimal organisational morals and values. A family business trying to get professional, it recently changed owners. A gang of old-timers, who are resistant to any change/s and anything new, calls the shots - and most of them don't care about any business ethics (or have any). Their most common refrain - aise hi chalta hein idhar/ this is the way things have been done out here and so this is the way they will be done as well going forward. No sense of work timings - and zero work-life balance. Prioritises ass-licking over merit any day. The senior management and/ or the owners don't care much about this toxic work culture as long as the sales numbers/ revenue targets are being met (and even these numbers are fudged at times).
