Pros

I have worked with some good people here that I have learnt a lot from and enjoyed a decent work life balance. I've also had the opportunity to work on some interesting things, it's a great shame that things have been on a downward spiral for the past couple of years. In a way I suppose it's quite impressive that they've managed to keep the lights on given the performance of the business in recent years.

Cons

The turnover of the company has dropped by approximately 50% in 4 years, we are now onto the 3rd year in a row where I have not received any sort of pay rise, i.e real terms pay cut. In recent years we have had redundancies and the egregious situation, because of incompetent short sighted planning, of people having been recruited and then made redundant only a few months into the job. Unless things have changed for the better since this review was written please don't leave a secure job to come here.

Pros

not a great deal. Some of the people were amazing to work with

Cons

Mood International from the get-go was a bad experience. Forced into moving home to get the job was probably the first bad sign. I was desperate for a role straight out of uni and their contracted recruiter pushed me into moving home to be close to the office, regardless of my ability to travel there. After moving address I was made redundant within 6 months. The company (HR mainly) handled this process like a child in a playground with gossip. Everyone knew about it before the people who were being made redundant could take action. We were made to interview for our roles again although this was going to be head to head with 2 people who had years of experience. What a joke.

Pros

Get up close and personal with your customer- see how what you do contributes to their success- we make a difference! Your opinion will count- you are expected to contribute to the company's success, not be a passenger Recognition accompanies achievement and commitment- it's not a mechanical process (I have had several promotions and pay rises in only 3.5 years) We recognise talent whatever end of your career you are at (i joined when I was 59) You will be surrounded by bright, energetic, colleagues with bags of charm and wit- even if we can get a bit noisy sometimes we have fun. In all sorts of ways. This may sound an odd comment, but in my 45 years of working life I have never been in an environment where people behave with such cultural and gender support- bias-free, entirely proper at all time (even if we sometimes shout at each other) We develop people fast, with lots of support, and quickly put you in a position where you can have a lot of control over your day to day workload, and a lot of say in a plan.

Cons

we flex to meet new challenges from customers, the market, and the opportunities are amazing software offers. That means you have to be flexible as well, and it can be de-stabilising when something you have worked on for months suddenly loses it's value through no fault of your. Our passion and commitment means that when we debate, it can get loud (though never personalised). You'll need to be able to stand your ground if you are involved. It's not for everyone- because of all the factors stated. If you like to know what you will be doing day in day out, for the foreseeable future, you will not be comfortable in MooD
