Pros

Will cover your annual professional organization membership fees.

Cons

Non-clinical focus. Foodservice and retail business centered. Profit above patient care and employee satisfaction. High turnover rate. The entire company and its multiple and complicated bureaucratic quarterly and annual reviews are also foodservice focused which completely undermines the clinical staff. Why should we get "dinged" because of company retail sales? And what does that have to do with how we are performing as inpatient clinicians? Why is every single award (as ridiculous as they are; like a "banner" or a "photo with some big wig manager") about some foodservice achievement? The RD's who work in the clinical side are left by the wayside. However we are berated constantly for "not being efficient" (a.k.a. working you to the bone by seeing as many patients as humanly possible in an 8 hour shift, but never mind the quality of work done). See many position available posted online at various sites? All the time? Let that sink in. Also noticed how there's a lot of "positive" reviews in the past week? And how most of the positive reviews come from management or supervisors? And when you read the cons notice that they are all worded very positively? I wonder why. Instead of wasting what seems like a ridiculous amount of money on all their PR, this company should invest in its employees from the bottom up and compensate appropriately for good performance and also weed out those who are not qualified or are only good at being company cheerleaders. Finally, do yourself a favor and never work here, ever.

Pros

I don't have many kind words to say.

Cons

I work in a kitchen previously owned by my hospital. Our patients were satisfied with our service, we received vacation and benefits. Long story short, everyone was generally pleased. One month Morrison's bought out our kitchen. Ever since that month and now a year later many of us hate coming to work. We are always frightened that someone from Morrisons management will "pop" in and catch us doing a tiny thing wrong and fire us. The vibe is completely different, overtime is a thing of the past, and we are under a microscope for no reason.

Pros

Morrison is relationship focused, and I love it. There is a great culture of building relationship with our customers and clients, as well as across and up and down the company. This includes across sector lines with other Compass-USA sectors. To build and maintain this culture, Morrison provides a wide variety of training and development opportunities. The opportunity to grow with the company is not just for some kind of elite group, it is provided to every level (Vice President, Manager, Front Line, et al.) The relationship culture is also expressed in the day to day operations on the unit level. Because Morrison is so large there is nearly always someone in reach to share best practices, give advice on unusual situations, or even someone who will understand if it is time to "vent." There are amazing opportunities to grow a career. Because of Morrison's organic growth, an upwardly mobile career path is not only possible, but strongly encouraged. Managers are rewarded for developing and promoting their team members. When regulations change, as is constantly happening in the healthcare field, Morrison is quick to provide the tools and the training to adapt and help the individuals in the team to adapt. This is also true of industry trends. Morrison is "cutting edge" in our technology, our clinical practices, our health focus, and social responsibility. Morrison's commitment to diversity and inclusion is one of the things I am most proud of. This is far different from "tolerance, or acceptance." Morrison/Compass is enthusiastic about embracing cultural, ethnic, religious, and every other kind of diversity. They seek to integrate a variety of viewpoints and values in the workplace and beyond. Morrison's commitment to social responsibility encourages individuals and operations to be active in their respective communities outside of work. Environmental responsibility and sustainability also play key roles in the overall culture. Relationships are the key. To build and keep long-term relationships takes honesty, and integrity. That is not only true for relationship that keep over 97% of our clients, year after year, but for keeping happy long-term associates, like me. I am still excited and proud to work for Morrison after more than 23 years.

Cons

I don't like the new bonus structure. I think it sends the wrong message.
