      Chaotic and Toxic

      Pros

      The pay is quite nice. They have a good vacation policy.

      Cons

      Toxic environment. managers have no training or even experience in the field of the people they are trying to manage. Constantly shifting priorities. Their current code base is a mess and will not change because the same people are working on the new code base. Engineers are treated like commodities with no say in anything, just assigned to do work.

      Pros

      They had a vision, and it was innovative at the time. Great location right in downtown Madison, off State Street.

      Cons

      Very much a frat house atmosphere at C level. The staff is spied on. Whatever bold ideas the company once had, the field has accelerated far beyond them. Moxe is a backwater.

      A good place on the decline

      Pros

      The vision from the CEO is clear and compelling. Most of the people are great to work with. The tech stack is reasonably modern and the skills you learn are relevant. Genuinely flexible schedule.

      Cons

      The pay is just okay and the benefits are poor (expensive insurance, no 401k matching, no annual bonuses). The company is still not profitable and missing targets lately. Fully remote work now only allowed for those not in Madison or Boston. The once-good culture is slipping. People used to say, "Moxe is very low BS," but they don't say that anymore. Many beaurocratic execs and managers with big egos and big talk have been hired. Folks on the bottom of the org chart are not valued. Moxe is becoming a very typical employer.
