Pros

Unlimited vacation Best 401k in the USA THE PEOPLE (excluding the CEO) are some of the strongest and nicest you will ever work with - the only reason anyone stays It's a music biz - so its sexy to work there Casual dress, nice office, good location

Cons

Let's go with a list: 1. The CEO is the classic example of the "I know everything" personality, so much so that he will change the direction of the business drastically if he feels that it will somehow benefit the company position. This is usually done with no input from any senior staff/department directors or those involved in the day-to-day and is always a knee-jerk approach. This is why nothing was accomplished for almost 2 years during my stay there. 2. The CEO will take over technical/marketing/sales meetings and present opinion based conjecture to the contrary of the real findings presented by those who are spending the time to do research and provide architecture that is founded. He does so in an 'I''m the big kid on the playground' approach so that others (who generally have the proper knowledge" are brow beat into waiting for him to finish his eulogy of thoughts. This behavior finds it's way to the most basic functions of the business and is TRULY the anchor keeping this great company from thriving. 3. It is not unusual to see someone break down in tears over comments made by the CEO. Those comments are usually derogatory and condescending and in most cases made during large town hall style meetings. 4. The process required to obtain buy-off on any given project is so laden with CEO required review that most of the time engineers spend more time creating plans and slide decks than actually writing code. So in summary, if you are looking to subject yourself to ridicule and like working on a tread mill than this is the place for you.

Pros

If you ever wanted to bear witness to a company slowly but methodically being death marched into nonexistence by comically incompetent management, then this is the perfect job for you.

Cons

*Cue Yakety Sax* No viable business plan whatsoever. They've been trying to launch a laughably outdated and unwanted product for over 3 years, promising everyone that it will save the company. It's like the iceberg's been hit a while ago but the CEO is trying to open a Wendy's on the lower deck. There is no strategy or direction - everything single day is a fire drill based on the direction Comcast farts in. No one grows in an atmosphere like this - employees are forced to abandon working mid-project to jump on something else that will inevitably be canceled or changed. And rather than address this, senior management cowardly denies any responsibility and instead blames the employees for subpar work. As the company has seeped further into its death spiral, senior management has grown increasingly paranoid and vindictive against the employees, verbally attacking anyone who they deem is "low meets." There is no consideration for the mental health and well-being of associates. On multiple occasions I had to endure the COO Zoom chat me to demean low-level employees who made mistakes. It was so unprofessional and just so so embarrassing to witness. There's no HR, as many have mentioned. All HR issues need to be taken up with the CEO and/or COO. *Cue Yakety Sax again* The majority of directors/upper management have no idea: a) How to manage their departments b) What their department actually does c) How or why they should stand up for their employees Morale is sweatshop level. Viewership is actually below that, which is impressive in its own right. People are leaving in droves. Its a race to see if the company can lose more users or employees by year's end. It's anyone's game.

Pros

Benefits/40lK; (supposed) Unlimited Time off; (certain) people; ability to WFH (at the moment)

Cons

Senior management team is completely out of touch with the rest of the company and show favoritism towards specific individuals. Raises are not given out of merit, but out of favoritism and those who know how to work Senior Management. Raises are based off of out dated grids that do not work for certain job titles so those people can never move up. Those who try to prove they deserve a raise based off of examples are added to a short list of most likely to get let go and become targets for Senior Management. Senior Management does not like to do work here and instead are great delegators and completely out of touch with what their departments and employees As mentioned above raises are mostly go to the underserved at MC and pay is lower than the industry average with barely only a small annual raise. A MAJOR ISSUE HERE is that there is no senior HR and no desire to hire one - many have asked and complained about this. There have been many issues with POC and the fact that we do not have an HR department has only heightened this issue as there is only one POC in a leadership role at MC. All other POC in Senior Management have been let go over this past year. Senior Management believes they understand the issue of POC, but they only believe what they want and are not willing to listen to others, especially in lesser positions then theirs. This goes for all aspects of the company though not just the POC Issue.
