Pros

This company has cool people for the most part. There are definitely friendly faces and smiles around the office. But this is all a facade...

Cons

I don't think a single person who works here enjoys coming in to work here. I worked in the creative department here and instead of being a creative that has the freedom to stretch our creative muscle and truly make amazing art, we are bogged down by structural changes every other week and people who secretly hate their lives for some reason. It was stress fests, meetings just to complain, and talking behind everybody's back at every moment. If you're a creative, don't work here. This ship will sink soon. They also offer this thing called Flexible Time Off? What that basically means is, don't ever expect to have a day off. Management will hound you even if you are on vacation for "immediate responses" and will punish you if you don't.. EVEN ON VACATION!

Thank you so much for this feedback. I’m sorry to hear that changes in the creative department were uncomfortable for you. We are dedicated to never settling for the status quo, and to always be evolving and adjusting our internal processes to deliver the best possible product to our clients. MuteSix is seeing rapid growth, and with that comes the opportunity to find new ways to deliver our offerings, and optimize how we communicate across departments. It is one of our primary goals to constantly evaluate processes and make adjustments as necessary. We are a very dynamic and fast-paced company, and are truly not a fit for everyone. Our Flexible Time Off policy is based on mutual trust and appreciation, and continues to be very well received by the team. As with everything we do here, we are always eager to listen to your thoughts and input, as we believe all concerns can be solved with clear communication and honesty. We wish you success with your future endeavours. All the best, Daniel Rutberg, CCO

Worst Job I've Ever Had

Pros

I guess the pay and benefits, but no money would ever be enough to make me stay at this place.

Cons

DO NOT WORK FOR MUTESIX. This place was by far the worst place I have ever worked. The offer looked amazing on paper, only shortly to realize that this company is full of people who have no clue what they are doing. The majority of my team had more industry experience than the director of our department, who was selling a service that was nearly impossible to deliver on. There was absolutely no strategy involved in a position that should be all strategy and optimization. The team was worked to the bone, working up to 70 hours a week + weekends just to try and hit impossible goals. Client retention is incredibly low since the outrageous goals and numbers were rarely hit -- truly do not know how they get clients to sign on in the first place. The reviews saying that MutSix is essentially a pyramid scheme are 100% accurate. If you're at the bottom of the "pyramid" as an L1 to L2, your L4 and L5 will throw you to the wolves just to make more commission off of your accounts while you see none of the money. There are some serious ethical issues with how this company is run. I also learned they were using other people's interview assignments internally, which is 110% unethical, if not illegal.

Pros

Working from home is nice.

Cons

You will work 60 hours each week. You will not be provided support. You will be expected to respond to messages at all hours. You do not have weekends. You do not have nights. You do not have life, you will only have work because even when you sleep, you'll be getting messages from clients and work assignments your L5 didn't want to do. You will be given unrealistic expectations. By unrealistic, I mean divine intervention would be necessary to get remotely close. You will be expected to meet and exceed them. You will be berated if you don't. If you are outside of California, good luck. East Coast employees were expected to work until 8 PM or later. Some decided to simply work 12 - 8 PM like they still worked at a call center. I hope you don't enjoy the holidays. You will not be eating turkey at Thanksgiving. You will not be opening gifts at Christmas. You won't blow out candles on your birthday. You'll miss life events because of the work you are expected to churn out. You will be working around the clock. It's unimaginable to tell a client no or push back. When you eventually burn out and need time off, good luck in that arena. Unlimited PTO is a scam. You only get as many days off as your manager approves. This also is impossible to navigate because depending on your manager, YOU MAY NEVER SPEAK TO THEM. If you do manage to snag a day off, you will be harassed. And you better answer when they call, too. On top of that, 'get your clients covered.' Like you work in retail again. Maybe your L5 will step up and do the work of a small fry? Nope :) This is a pyramid scheme. L1 and L2 do all the work at this company. L3 and above simply delegate work and enjoy commissions from the work done by the ones below them. I hear way too often an L4 doesn't want to do an undesirable, tedious, difficult, time consuming task so they offload it to someone below them. Sure that may be all upper management, but at this company it is blantant. Believe me, you are nothing to those people. You're working to pay for your L5 next vacation. Speaking of treatment of lower levels, you will not be trained. I sincerely hope you are some type of brainiac who can solve any and every single problem known to man. If you are not, no one else is either. You'll be thrown to the wolves when you inevitably do not have the tools or resources to fix problems. Accountability is passed down from the top down. This company is also full of liars. I am convinced all the positive reviews were created to bury all the negative ones. They won AdAge by incentivizing employees.
