Employee concern is just for show

Pros

Money. They're aware the work environment is so toxic, so they have plenty of bonuses and allowances to prevent employees from leaving

Cons

Very top-heavy organization with too many managers. Anything that needs approval will be passed around by 7-10 managers IN JUST ONE DEPARTMENT, all of whom have inconsistent opinions on what the final product should be. Managers only assign work and criticize, but never help with the actual day-to-day tasks. The most they do is blame associates for not working fast enough and have 'working' meetings at Bakehouse Very high employee turnover. Low-level worker bees are are not replaced quickly enough (yet managers are hired every month). Associates and leads have regular breakdowns due to almost-daily overtimes. Someone in your team left and you have to cover their work because hiring takes months? You'll still get paid the salary of one person. Do it well enough and they won't hire another person because you're a rock star Anything that's agreed on by different departments over several weeks will be easily undone with one unproductive demand by the c-suite or Globe CEO. Getting promoted is impossible. They'll assign more work with the promise of promotion, then conveniently forget that promise. You're still doing your work + your work HAD you been promoted, though Reorgs happen frequently, leaving gaps that get you asking, "who's doing this work now?" Since you noticed the gap, you're gonna be doing the work now. Good job buddy! You'll work many inconsiderate higher-ups who will make you feel subhuman . No one will value your experience or even try understand what you do. Prepare to lose your dignity and work-life balance when you work overtime on 10+ projects daily only to be told "this is a brain fart", "amateur" and other similar insults.

There is something wrong with people management

Pros

1) Benefits beyond what other companies offer -- maybe a cover up for all the chaos the work environment brings

Cons

1) Salary not at par from the outside organizations given that the company is growing and almost breakeven 2) "Do more with less" company value --> done literally on resources. Loads of work but still lack of resource unrecognized by the upper management --> turns out a lot of burned out resources and attrition is very high especially on tech team. 3) Gave a lot of bonus from the previous year and creating a preemptive celebration already for the next year bonus --> which in my mind is not sustainable. Just give these bonuses as part of the merit increase or making the salaries at par with other companies -- maybe your resources will stay 4) Culture change when "Globe Takeover" happened. The growth of GCash in pandemic is due to pandemic needs of the users -- not because the new folks contributed to that -- It is so bad that the new folks will take credit for the things the foundational GCash people has done. 5) The company became focused on making money all the time, going away from serving the financially underserved motto of the company -- moreover, they didn't take care of the people properly, especially tech pips. Even with a lot of employee experience platforms HR team has initiated in the past few months, the long time burnout/feeling cannot be erased by these initiatives itself. 6) It is always business teams at the spotlight of every new feature/product -- As hard as they try to infuse the tech team on the picture, it doesn't especially on company townhalls --

Pros

Opportunity to be part of the creation process that fellow Filipinos use

Cons

- new people shamelessly taking credit for other peoples efforts - not a people oriented org. In the middle of pandemic, numbers are still more important than people's well being - mistakes are labelled "criminal" instead of having a "fail fast learn fast" mindset - new people that came in are managing out the people that has built the foundation of GCash - top management only considers feedback among themselves - org changes very frequently, with no room for people to ease in - fintech that is driven by business teams, while tech teams' voice practically fall on deaf ears - top management people have lots of biases against the people that has been in the company for a long time
