Decent stepping stone, but very political and difficult to advance

Pros

- Great exposure to top Fortune 500 brands and great stepping stone early in a career - Client-facing roles touch almost every department. You learn a ton both technically and about the broader media/adtech industry within CPG - Decent hours compared to agency life - Unlimited PTO and good 401k matching (8%)

Cons

- Internal politics are pretty remarkable for such a small company. Often times my clients were easier to deal with than the internal complexities. - Very hierarchical for a small company, senior leadership feels like an 'old boy network' that gatekeeps middle management out. This trickles down to how Directors manage their teams too. There are a few bad eggs in leadership that HR is aware of, but can't do anything about. I knew three people personally during my time there who left because of how one individual in senior leadership treated them. - Salaries are below market average, especially in NYC. Promotions are seen as a necessary evil to be doled out only when it's clear someone is considering leaving, rather than a reward and incentive. Sales roles also aren't commission based. - This has all led to high turnover and a culture of doing the bare minimum except for a select few who carry their team. NYC works out of a WeWork now too.

Pros

Access to amazing resources and brand recognition from the parent companies Nielsen and Catalina. The Joint Venture connects Nielsen's what they Watch with Catalina's what they Buy to create a monster single source database that allows for targeting and measurement online, on tv, mobile, gaming etc.

Cons

So much to do and so little time.

Pros

-WFH -Unlimited PTO (use it- it's unlimited for a reason) -WFH Office setup

Cons

-It's a good step if you want to enter the CPG industry and do Programmatic Ad Analytics and Targeting, BUT there are constant changes, team restructuring, and workloads with crazy deadlines. Would recommend soaking up all the knowledge necessary and leaving with a 1-year of experience- or before they try to push you out with a good old performance plan (have witnessed former co-workers go through this) -Heavy drinking culture and literal tone-deaf approach with diversity -Some people have been promoted but still don't do the work but talk the talk, and you slowly begin to realize why they got promoted.
