      Good Organization; Political Beast

      Pros

      The NJEDA has always been on of the most progressive organizations with which to work. There are plenty of opportunities to become involved in a myriad of projects so that one is never stuck in one place

      Cons

      The organization has become far too political in recent years and this has caused the exodus of a large number of top employees.

      The opportunity to work with small business owners devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

      The work environment is micro managed to the point of being hostile/harassing and impedes the ability of the staff to effectively perform job duties.

      seven hour workday no drug test

      Cons

      Micromanagement and fear of making business decisions are the most challenging aspects of working here. Most situations are set up to make the employee fail and pplicies often make things ineffective. If you are an intelligent person who likes to find ways to get things done outside of normal thinking, this is no the place for you. Often asked to work through lunch or not take lunch at all. Asked to ignore applicants while senior management backpedals on issues with ineffective programs. In some instances asked to lie to applicants.
