First, I'm not a disgruntled employee, just someone trying to help save you a bad experience...
Second, I beg you to find another place to work. You can be the best at what you do, the most knowledgeable person in the room, friends with everyone, and then one thing goes wrong and you're done. During my tenure I have seen many people come in one day and disappear never to be heard from again. Firing people is discussed as a valid way to gain compliance with new initiatives, you don't go with the flow you're gone, we'll find someone who will. You take a little time to learn your job or you say the wrong thing to the wrong person, hit the bricks pal you were lucky to have the job now good luck surviving somewhere else.
Beyond that, the business model itself is extremely flawed and only survives by the good graces of its main investor. The company operates solely on a line of credit that is never high enough, vendors go without payment for months, so much to the extent that the company turned to credit cards to pay their vendors to get product because the bank would not increase their credit line and vendors do not pay. There is constant fear of not having money to make payroll and thus constant agitation and anger over the fact that customers take a very long time to pay.
Not only do customers not pay promptly but management has absolutely no goal except to make money. It doesn't matter that THEY may never see the revenue they're booking in the form of cash, but they well book it because business is business and business must grow. They could care less about helping anyone, some of them would step on anyone if it meant a few more dollars in revenue.
The pay is ok, but the benefits are horrible. Company pays less than 50% of benefit cost and the deductibles and out of pockets for healthcare are egregious. They do have a 401k, but there is no match and if not enough people invest they will pass the penalty fees from the custodian on to the employees.
