      Fake R&D

      Pros

      Older generation individual contributors are great to work with. New generation has no clue about energy and engineering.

      Cons

      It is FAKE R&D. NYSERDA does not do any R&D. Somehow it collects 1 billion dollars of taxpayers money every year and Governor's women/men decide where that money is spent. It is mostly spent in giving incentives. Someone should look into this money channel. As if New Yorkers are not paying enough in taxes.

      * Interesting challenges, smart people, important mission, chance to make a difference * New senior management cares about the best ideas and is making NYSERDA a more interesting place to work for people who want to work hard for the mission * New emphasis on the cutting edge of clean energy * Dynamic teams and hard work

      Cons

      * Part of government, limited salary * Not everyone, especially some managers, are on board with the new program * Some good people have not been promoted but this is starting to change * New strategy in flux and needs regulatory approval

      50% in person work requirement, slow path to advancement, bureaucratic and slow processes
