Chance to do good for clients in need Competitive pay Some pleasant coworkers

Cons

No real room to advance for attorneys. Management is ineffective and out of touch, with decisions made by those bereft of recent applicable experiences. Decisions often seem arbitrary and capricious, born of whimsy. At worst, decisions seem born of spite and hubris. Sexism is apparent, especially with respect to younger female associates (coming from a male). In the end, systemic issues and firm culture overwhelm the upside.

Pay is decent, lots of PTO and great health insurance.

Cons

Disorganized work environment, there is NO HR which means if you have a problem, you’re stuck talking to a stressed out and overwhelmed attorney, who will not actually try to solve any of your issues.

You will certainly get a lot of hands on experience in a sink or swim environment. It will give you the opportunity to think outside the box and forward.

Cons

Opportunities for advancement are based on office politics; if management likes you then you will not be cut. However, if you are on the outside then your efforts will not be rewarded.
