Pros

It can be a good option to get into the field and get some experience to then eventually work elsewhere.

Cons

If you value professionalism, stability, and respect in a workplace, I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere. Working at National Positive Behaviour Support in Melbourne was a disappointing experience. The management is unprofessional, dismissive of suggestions, and heavily influenced by nepotism. With decision makers largely composed of family and friends, favoritism is rampant, leading to promotions that often defy logic. Decision-making feels more emotional than strategic, with priorities shifting unpredictably, creating a chaotic work environment. The company’s reputation isn’t great either, as evidenced by their consistently poor Google reviews—not just employees, but even clients seem dissatisfied. High staff turnover is a major issue they conveniently gloss over during recruitment. They hire in large batches, but once reality sets in, most employees don’t stick around. Employees are treated as expendable money-makers rather than valued team members. The culture of disregard and lack of genuine support makes it hard to feel appreciated or secure in your role.
