Local work culture is as great, corporate, with some exceptions, is abysmal
Pros
The clinical and residential leadership is amazing (the chief programs officer and clinical service director). They’re compassionate, kind, understanding, and offer support - always. If I could have worked only with them, and the former HR, I’d have stayed forever. I haven’t had any experience with the newer HR, but imagine he’s great too - I had a bit of experience with him in a different role.
Cons
The SSVF side of leadership (community program director) is pedantic and unkind. The intent seems to be to make you feel stupid, not to lead or teach. He will project being the world’s most caring person. I have some documentation that isn’t in line with that. Weird hobby, pedantry, but to each their own. The CEO is condescending, and will align with problematic corporate employees. I was a salaried employee, which meant if I was on vacation I was working, if I was at the doctor I was working, if there was an issue at 1am I was working, there was no ability to disconnect. Maybe that’s improved since I left? I dunno. But there are roles there in which work life balance doesn’t exist, and I was in one of them. I think others might be a bit better for that, but I never experienced it in any of my time there.
