What a mess. There is no clear vision for the organization which is stunning considering the current interest in the general population for native plants. Current leadership/CEO is insecure and looks to people that are willing to baselessly gratify his ego and reassure him. This has created a 'crony' system where voices that are the least knowledgeable are given the greatest influence. I am not sanguine about the future of the organization; if it cannot find its feet in this time of great support for native plants, it demonstrates a lack of organizational stability. The organization is coasting on the goodwill of its supporters, but this can't last forever.

The management of the organization was poor. Priorities were self-serving with a focus on the organizations image but ignored staff concerns. Budgets were mismanaged.
