Pros

Pay - The only reason to work here is that you may make a decent salary.

Cons

I worked for Nelson Brothers/Nelson Partners at the executive level for more than a year. There are far too many cons to list. Most importantly, the CEO is the worst person I've ever worked for. I'm posting this as a service to potential future employees. Read all of the reviews about this company (and its predecessor Nelson Brothers). All of the negative reviews are absolutely true and they don't even paint a complete picture of how terrible this man is to work with/for. Any positive reviews are from employees who were asked to write them by the owner, and who were almost universally terminated or left on negative terms within a few months of leaving the reviews. I personally know virtually everyone who left a positive review. They would not say the same things today. If you decide to take the leap anyway, prepare for a non-stop barrage on your self-esteem and dignity, never ending cash shortages and complete lack of strategic direction, along with every other negative professional experience you can imagine. Negotiate every detail up front and make sure it is in your employment letter. No verbal promises will be kept. Assuming you actually make it more than a year, the clock will start on your remaining employment. When you are terminated, which you inevitably will be, don't expect severance pay or anything more than what is legally owed. The CEO will invent reasons to fire you for cause. I know this sounds extreme. In reality, it is probably not extreme enough.

Pros

You will be payed well because you probably won't last very long. The buildings are high enough to jump from.

Cons

The most crooked company I have ever seen. You keep your mouth shut and watch residents cry if you want to keep your job. They don't pay any bills, but instead ask you to find a new vendor. I hope they understand that at some point word of mouth gets out and no one will work for them. They foreclose on properties every year, then acquire a new one to get the short term benefits. There's many students that never received their security deposits and the sad part is they never will. They hold wages if you resign and immediately cut off all contact with you. I'm honestly surprised that this company still operates. Students are stuck with no A/C while the CEO is on vacation with his daughters. Pat Nelson if you're reading this please imagine if your daughters where living in these conditions. The majority of the higher employees are minions and slaves to high salaries. Eventually they will come to their senses and quit because of business ethics. Employees are expected to pull out their funds to pay for things and hopefully get reimbursed a few months later.

Pros

There has been great people to work with that actually care and try to make this company great. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you try, this company is broken.

Cons

Everything from unpaid bills, employees don’t get paid promised commissions or bonuses, constant finger pointing on what you’re doing wrong, lack of communication, lack of leadership and unethical/unprofessional work environment. Nelson Partners is a very toxic work place that expects you to work 24/7 and Pat Nelson feels you aren’t doing enough, he will lay you off and call it a “reconstruction”. Nobody lasts in the company and that’s the sad truth. There has been amazing employees work for this company and all have been laid off or left because of the toxic work environment. This company cannot be fixed regardless of who they hire because the problem is the CEO, not other employees.
