      Hard-working business with fantastic career opportunities for self-starters

      Pros

      • Great career prospects - Helped me develop from a freelancer/intern to a qualified professional with management experience and a practical understanding of the industry. • Fantastic place for self-starters with ambition - Plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and gain additional responsibilities. • Passionate leadership always open to new ideas/working practices to help them get the best results. • Small tight-knit team. Reliable and fun people with a strong work-ethic. • Great office amenities and location – Arcade machine, table-tennis tournaments, table football and free coffee all in the heart of the city centre.

      Cons

      • Initial lack of a formal hiring process led to a number of bad recruitment choices early on. • Transitioning from a start-up to a functional business caused a lot of structural changes.

We are also currently trying to expand on the kind of content we do for our campaigns to test how successful they are and so far we’ve had some great results, so trying new things is really good advice.       Pros

      I have been working for NeoMam for over 3 years and have seen a lot of change during this time. I have seen a change in culture, where the management involve the employees in decision making. NeoMam encourage training in all aspects of the job. Relaxed atmosphere in office with opportunities to fight zombies on the VR! Table tennis tournaments and cake Mondays with a fridge full of drinks.

      Cons

      Paying for car park vouchers for parking could be good Old building means office can get warm in the summer. I get a lot of autonomomy in my role, this may not be for everyone.

And we'll make sure to keep those drinks flowing! I'm also very glad to see that you appreciate the hard work we've put into building a healthy company culture as it certainly was one of our weaker spots as a business. We've revamped our hiring process to ensure the culture we've built remains strong. Training is at the core of what we do, from on-the-job coaching to our always evolving financial literacy program for the entire team. It's very rewarding to learn that you appreciate it.       Fun and rewarding place to work

      Pros

      I love working at NeoMam due to the fact that it has has a small in-house team that are focused on creating the best work- there's always discussions and debates going on about how we can do something better, or try something new. You never feel like you can't bring an idea to the table. The whole team is involved in the growth of the company. We have hours dedicated to understanding where the business is going, and we all brainstorm ways on how we can help get there. We all have development goals that we work on every quarter, and weekly meetings to discuss things that are getting in our way. I love the fact that I have a clear area of responsibility, and I get to create my own path, whether it's something I want to learn, implement a new way of doing things or test a new content type, I have the freedom to 'give it a go'. I work with a great team that have been through a tight recruitment process, so everyone seems to really understand the business and are a good fit with the rest of the team, as well as been talented in their expert areas. NeoMam has some awesome clients who we work with over a longer period of time, so you really get to know them, which I really like. It's very much a partnership way of working rather than just doing what is asked. It feels like there's a high level of mutual respect between us and our clients.

      Cons

      It can be hard work, particularly as everyone is very much accountable for their own areas in the business. If you don't do the work, then no one else will, and it becomes very apparent. It's a good place for those who want it, but not good for those who are happy to coast. As a small team, if someone is having a bad day, it can effect the environment of the office. We do have a set of core values to live by, which really helps us work well with each other in the best way. We work closely with expert consultants and freelancers to get the best work done. In some ways this is really great, but it can also be tough managing workload if they are not always available.

We really appreciate your open mindedness around working on the business so thanks for sharing your ideas on how to grow our company further. We know this is not something that everyone would enjoy doing so it's great to have you on board as it is a very important part of NeoMam and our open book approach to running a business. Being a small team certainly comes with its challenges; as you mentioned one person's bad mood can spread quickly around the office. Since the time you left your review, we've moved to a fully flexible working structure where we all work remotely most of the time so I hope that helped in that sense. That being said, our value of just saying it is there to clean the air and get it out whenever one of us is not feeling quite right to avoid these uncomfortable feelings from brewing further and affecting the entire team. Hiring the right team has been our focus during 2017 so fingers crossed that will show as you get to work with new members of the NeoMam team!
