Not as rosy as it seems

Pros

Great people work here, it's a lot of fun (though can depend on manager/team). The Founders mean well and want to succeed.

Cons

Loss of faith in SLT as redundancies were made in January. The whole thing was handled badly with a large payoff to a Founding Partner (which employees discovered via Company's House) made at the same time, essentially looking as if the payment was provided by the redundancy salaries with no care for dedicated employees - and no communication to address this. Very much against the 'family' environment they seek to foster. Additionally left the remaining employees with little faith in the financial projections of the SLT as this came out of nowhere.

Pros

The agency has lots of exciting brands doing global advertising as their clients which you get exposed to. The standard is high here - you feel like you are surrounded by experts. It’s very well run operationally and they are honest with both clients and employees. People are nice.

Cons

It can be pretty intense at certain points of the quarter and year as there is a high volume of leads and pitching - but that’s sales in a growth business.

Best place I've worked at for progression

Pros

Every year I've been at Nest I've learned a new skillset and been provided with new growth opportunities. I have always felt like there's room for me to grow because the agency moves very fast and constantly adapts to the market as well as to brands' needs/challenges. I've seen people progress really fast but also be given the chance to develop skills in different specialisms (operations, client services, creative, sales, etc.). The culture and people are also great so that helps. The Social and D&I committees make sure that it's not all about work but also having a good time, learning about relevant topics and celebrating people's differences.

Cons

Nest specialises in ecommerce/online retail so if you're looking for a generalist role this isn't the place for you
