      Pros

      Work with and for great people. Flexible work schedule. Very pleasant atmosphere.

      Cons

      Very low pay. 25 cent annual increase. Decision making too centralized and bureaucratized. Pay and advancement opportunities are not at all performance-based. All positions filled/advancement decisions made by centralized county human resources department who do not work in the library and who do not know employees. Too much emphasis on test score to fill full time job positions.

      They don't promote from within and testing for positions are unfair and out of touch with the position being tested for.

      Great people with matching atmosphere and plenty of opportunities for professional development, both for part and full-time employees. Pay is competitive.

      Cons

      Lots of red tape and politics involved in library operations, but it's tolerable. Hiring process is rather slow.
