Cons
-If you are not the 'popular kid' you will hit your earnings and opportunities ceiling pretty quickly. -Very little opportunity for cross department work. Everyone protects their own silo'd areas. -Management will turn down advice and ideas from well-seasoned employees in favor of ideas and opinions from outside consultants. Consultants are practically seen as living gods and their word is unquestioned. -Management rationalizes that their low wages are 'good for the area' and then gives presentations on how they want to follow in Apple and Google's footsteps for industry shake-ups. -All of the department heads and managers have been around for 30 years since the company started and everyone is trying their best to one up the other. They aren't letting go of their jobs any time soon and they will make sure you won't be able to endanger their positions. -The new call center feels like some kind of military prison camp. Everyone is in low walled cubes and talking to any another employee is not permitted during your shift. The silence is deafening and depressing.
