Cons
- One of the old saying from the original owner is that they didn't create this company to make the lives of workers miserable. That isn't true at all anymore. The company is solely profit driven. - Company doesn't understand how project management works and only plans for short term (~2 weeks) milestones and don't understand how progress isn't made when so much focus is on the smaller, not the larger picture. - Company cuts corners to achieve timelines. - Upper management does not trust WFH employees, though there is a hybrid schedule in place. If you're not in office, you're slacking is the mentality. Upper management will walk through office space daily to check attendance. - Benefits are slowly decreasing while increasing premiums. - 6 year vesting period for 401k - Everyone is expendable, company doesn't care about worker wellbeing. - Upper Management doesn't understand scope creep, so there's never scope creep. - No control over what you do on projects, Upper Management dictates direction. - Upper Management does not take lightly to criticism nor will they listen to project issues until it's at a critical point. - End of year reviews go through different review panels, starting with yourself, then your manager, then your department, and then across the company. You may start as a 5 out of 6 (and being a 6 is verbally told to employees that it's impossible because you have to be the CEO to have that much impact) but end at a 3.4 because the company will compare you to other departments and scale you down accordingly. Being average is not enough to get your full bonus, you have to kiss up to Upper Management and hope they place you well in the final reviews. - Company mentality is to cut people, decrease WFH days, and shorten project timelines because you're slacking at home. - Everything is a priority. - R&D team doesn't care about how products affect or transfer to production, sustaining team is left filling in the gaps
