Disorganized with a clique problem

Pros

Decent pay if you fight for it

Cons

- disorganized management from the top to mid-level. A lot of people who don’t know what they’re doing and are way more concerned with optics than their actual duties. That includes optics from the outside the company and also how their own bosses see them. - attribution issues. Mid and even senior management will work staff to the bone and then take full credit with no thanks. The work you put into a project does not translate to your own career advancement, but that of your boss. - clique problem. Senior management plays favourites. This contributes to the issue where people will take credit for others work and not attribute properly so that they’re on the c-suite’s radar instead of someone else. It also means that people who clearly don’t know what they’re doing get promotions and even bigger responsibilities they can’t perform and thrust on others. - “hustle culture” the c-suite has invested their money and lives in the business, and they expect everyone else to work 12 hour days as a result. You know the meme about how if a company says “we’re a family here” they just want to run you ragged for little thanks? This is one of those.

Hard work no credit given

Pros

- SOME great people - Work can be very interesting - Very creative at times - Dev team and tech teams are great assets to this company - tech for staff is A+ - SOMETIMES transparent leadership

Cons

- Leadership tends to lay all the blame on more junior - mid level members of staff - Nepotism and favouritism is rampant - Leaderships narrative about junior-mid level team members is disheartening and toxic - DEI initiatives are only reflective in the junior/mid level team members - leadership is not so diverse in gender, sexuality and race. - No bonus structure for staff outside of the leadership team - Senior members of staff take all credit for the work of junior-mid level team members - Optics are all this agency cares about - just look at their pitch reels

Pros

- Some good client accounts and good projects

Cons

- Attrition is very high and resourcing is a mess. People are not given the autonomy to create a proper team and structure. Management needs to be more involved in identifying the holistic issues and enabling employees to address them. People are just given work without the proper resources and skill sets. It is a gong show. - Lack of diversity in account service. - Lack of sufficient planning creates stress, duplication of work, burnout and lack of work life balance. - They sell you on benefits and perks but don't expect to be able to use them. - Lack of leadership with planning for back to office that may put people at risk. - Management will take the side of bad clients to save themselves.
