Pros

Notion is simply the best company I've ever worked for. It offers a truly market-leading product, genuine customer love, caring employees, and amazing career opportunities. Ivan and the leadership team are world-class. The Sydney office has one of the best cultures and team environments I've been part of. The team is deeply connected and supportive. There's a palpable sense that everyone is working together to succeed. The office vibe is one of positive energy and aspiration. There's a deep ambition to do great work, nicely balanced with humility. Another pro is the speed at which the product team ships updates. There have been 19 new enhancements and product updates in the last 3 months. As someone in a sales role, this rapid pace of new product launches always gives you something fresh to discuss with customers and is often a deep source of inspiration. Notion Sydney is a very special place. If you have the opportunity, I'd highly recommend working for Notion.

Cons

I can't really think of any.

Pros

There is this inexplicable warmth across most Notinos that is truly rare and special. They have done a good job at building structure in leadership (it is a bit too top heavy) who advocate for their people - this is at least true in the people department. The offices are stunning, well appointed, and a wonderfully welcoming places to collaborate IRL.

Cons

The Chief People Officer is one of the most inauthentic people I’ve come across in my professional career. She is full of herself (unsure why in a professional context), tone deaf (has made racist and angry comments in team meetings), and hasn’t done anything of note to contribute to Notion in her 6+ months (other than say we need to make our slack pictures actual pictures of ourselves and not use the Notion emojis…) She is toxic and the mass exodus that happened when she joined and continues to happen should have been a red flag to the founder but he seems to think highly of her. After the racist comment, outburst, and bad reviews on Glassdoor, she took to slack to apologize to everyone for not getting to know us first…weird. Then in these one on one meetings “getting to know us” she proceeded to tell folks Notion is her last stop professionally. Yikes. It feels like a cash grab and it’s disappointing.

Pros

Great Benefits Great Salary Product is excellent

Cons

Unfortunately, sales just aren't happening in the B2B space. If you want a job literally in any other department, you're set up for security and stability, but the quotas are increasingly becoming unattainable. Most sales are occurring with getting accounts that already exist to become "sales-assisted" or upgrade, but net new simply isn't occurring at the rate that people are being pushed at. There's also pressure to sell "AI" even though you cannot sell per license but to an entire workspace, making it one of the most expensive products on the market on top of the fact that it simply doesn't compete with current competitors. Don't join the sales org here, run away.
