interesting project, broken culture, poor management
Pros
- interesting, ambitious engineering project in blockchain area - agile, rapid development style - small team - flat hierarchy - good working equipment - good pay + stock options - good location (a few dinner opportunities, major train station) - office in Baar is basic, but nice; it has a shower - free snacks - home office options.
Cons
- the team is dominated by a clique of former colleagues who worked together for many years in a financial company - some of them never make mistakes, not even technical; if they do, it is your fault if you detect it - Western Europe natives only - lowbrow ethnic jokes - bad management: great feedback from the direct superior, fired 2 weeks later without a warning nor apparent reason - in the end, your performance doesn't matter - no technical project lead; the de-facto leader working 95% remotely from abroad, busy with his divorce - your personal incoming mail containing financial and other privacy-sensitive information will be left unattended in the office, even overnight (when the cleaning staff come), until you collect it - some working equipment cuts (e.g.: no docking station)... but I think it is understandable in a startup.
