Pros

The people and team culture (that I worked with) were great. Many incredibly talented, passionate and hardworking individuals. Strong brand identity with products customers genuinely loved and connected with. Great exposure across multiple areas of the business including marketing, retail, PR, digital, education and sales. Fast-paced environment that teaches you how to problem solve quickly and operate independently. Flexible / remote working arrangements were a positive (but this only applied to Global market teams, HQ is onsite with limited WFH) Opportunity to build strong relationships with major retail partners like Sephora and gain valuable industry experience. If you are ambitious and proactive, you can gain senior-level experience relatively quickly.

Cons

Increasing levels of micromanagement and performance pressure over time, particularly during periods of broader business decline. Unrealistic sales expectations were often placed on small teams despite wider market challenges, reduced investment and factors outside of local control. There was extremely lean marketing budget allocated to global markets vs the growth expectations being set. Performance management processes felt reactive and, at times, unfair given the broader commercial issues impacting the business. Significant staff turnover and multiple resignations created instability and impacted morale. Lean resourcing meant employees were often doing the job of multiple people simultaneously. Lack of consistent long-term strategy made it difficult for teams to feel set up for success. High emotional investment from employees was not always matched with adequate support from leadership. Overall, brand with huge potential and genuinely amazing people, but the culture became increasingly difficult due to mounting pressure, micromanagement and unrealistic expectations during a challenging business period. Many employees cared deeply about the brand and worked extremely hard, but there was a disconnect between the realities of the market and the expectations placed on teams.

Pros

People bring their dogs into the office

Cons

There are so many negatives at Nudestix that it's hard to put it into one review. The founder is literally a dictator and does not care about staff AT ALL. It's like working in a sweat shop there. She has done so many inappropriate things for a founder that I'm shocked if they have never been sued. You have to go into the office 4 days a week (Mon- Thurs) even if you are sick. You cannot work from home. The founder works from home when sick but staff are not allowed so one time there was a few people sick and passed it along to everybody coming up to Christmas. There is also nowhere to sit for lunch which is not surprising as they do not encourage you to take it. Most people just work at their desk all day including lunch. A healthy working environment is not encouraged as there are no social events even at the office which would be cheaper. The co-founder, which is the founder's daughter, is very nice however, during meetings, the founder talks down to her daughter in front of staff which is so uncomfortable. It's such a toxic environment. I have never seen so many people cry at one workplace. There is also only 10 days vacation as they do not care about you having a personal life. It's very stressful and most people are trying to get out. DO NOT WORK THERE!

Pros

honestly, none. i guess, free product? Taylor is sweet - they should give her control of the company.

Cons

please understand me when I say, this place is anyone with a soul's worst nightmare, and you should run in any other direction. the micromanagement, the lack of ownership by individual contributors and departments alike, the finger-pointing, the demeaning tone and heartlessness of leadership, the favouritism, the completely obvious off-coloured remarks and blatant line-toeing of 'less than classy' comments... I could go on and on. ownership (and FYI that includes the CFO, oops.. I mean COO) are unbelievably out of touch when it comes to anything remotely related to treating anyone with respect, and/or equity. they expect you to regularly work extra hours without so much as a 'well done', let alone any type of overtime pay or time off in lieu (honestly, dont even ask). If you're not working extra hours or overtime, they consider you to be doing less than what you're obligated to, you're worthless, and they will never pay you any attention when it comes time for merit increases. they very much expect you to give up any form of a personal life and commit 150% of yourself to this company. they have a completely misguided approach to compensation and promotions (typically speaking these are done as a reaction to someone else's resignation and are fear-based, as they are worried others will follow suit). there are so many people in roles they shouldn't be in (and don't deserve/warranty) at this company it's laughable. the team in the warehouse are actually treated less-than-human, in every way you can imagine. low pay, no benefits, no perks, no time off, no sick days.. whatever the bare minimum legal requirements are is good enough for the company. (this is when you start to catch on) the soul-sucking ways of this company will chew you up and very much spit you out on the other end an actual shell of yourself. they treat all departments differently, with favouritism going to anything marketing/sales/creative, leaving the operations, production, and (some of) finance to eat their crumbs. forget bringing up any concerns or issues in the workplace though.. you'll be spoken to in such a way by senior leadership (Jenny being the biggest culprit) you won't even believe it's possible. (i'll be praying for your mental health!) if you're expecting good company culture cause they project an imagine of a 'fun cosmetics brand' just... don't. they spew a bunch of nonsense about collaboration, and fairness, and manipulate you into thinking there's potential, and in the same breath say providing pizza parties and cake (but only sometimes, and only for certain people, because of course the other team get's sushi, duh) is what makes them a 'family', and 'separates them from the rest'. they will never consider you, your health, your needs, your growth potential, or anything else related to you as it's not in any way important to them. the money in their family's and BFF's pockets are the bottom line, and that is only trending downward. lastly, they moved their office/facility to Vaughan, so unless that's up your alley, have fun with that commute. you've been warned.
