Pros

I loved the people I worked for and the person who supervised me. It was rewarding making a difference in peoples lives for the better.

Cons

The current business model is only viable in a urban setting. The compensation for rural installation is half of the true value.Being payed for miles driven is not income. This turned out to be a position with not even minimum wage pay.

Pros

The training was good, and installation support was good.

Cons

Expectations of installing, marketing, and networking were skewed. the business model is not sustainable with drive time included unless 40+ hours are expected with 30-hour pay. The pay was very low for the time and effort. No residual income model in place. 10 years into position, and you will still need to do the same work for similar pay, or a small base-pay bump.

Your understanding of the expectations as well as the pay structure is not accurate. The Installer position is separate from marketing and networking. There is definitely room for growth at our organization and productive employees are rewarded fairly for their efforts. We're sorry it was not a good fit for you, but thank you for the feedback.

Pros

Working for OEI doesn't often feel like work. Rarely do I come home from a day feeling a sense of dread to start the next. Seldom do I feel the need to vent about the goings-on around me in the workplace. While it might appear that I am lucky (and I am), I must also attribute these rarities to the "work" that I am doing, and the people I am "working" with (both clientele and co-workers). On a day to day basis I speak with an abundance of people requesting help, and I get to grant that to people at no-cost. There is nothing better than the feeling of being able to help people without asking for anything in return. I get to honestly tell people that I love my job. I receive genuine hugs and smiles from people I have helped to change the lives of. I meet new people almost every day, and though we start out strangers it almost never ends that way. Families are reunitied through my "work," and I get to be a part of that each and every day. The biggest "pro" to working for OEI is that it isn't really work at all. Its an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself. A truly rewarding experience that changes lives, including mine.

Cons

While I can't speak for many "cons" I feel I must give some constructive criticism as nothing and nobody is perfect. There are many times where we are mistaken for "sales people" trying to make a profit or gain a commission. With the field we work in, clientele often have a hard time hearing and therefore understanding, and this makes it very hard to explain that I am not "selling" anything and that I am indeed helping them. Likewise, it is just as difficult to convince their doctors of this, and often more difficult to convince them to help people just as I do. With that being said, the challenge of these things never deters me from my work, and I often feel it helps inspire me to keep going. There is no greater feeling than hearing people and doctors tell me how grateful they are for the work I do, and I do not mind at all having to earn that.
