Pros
Support working is such a rewarding job and I had many lovely moments with the residents Job security- there is always a need for staff
Cons
The support from the management team is close to non existent. They claim to listen to the staff but they take no action or make improvements. I saw my entire team reach burnout due to staff shortages but because of budget issues this will never be resolved. This job made me so ill due to the stress of lone working and feeling like I carried the entire weight of the service on my back. I voiced this regularly but nothing came of this. The lack of funding means that the residents cannot be fully supported in the community and this is embarrassing.
