The owner lies, blames others for her mistakes, and punishes people that are just following the labour laws around mat/pat leave etc. If you question any wrong doing she makes up stories of BOEs and schools complaining, and calls schools to ask targeted questions to garner "proof" just to be spiteful. There is zero recognition of long time employees and whatever work has been done, its all about power harassment and blame. (to be transparent I was not a target of the companies behaviour, but am well aware of her methods)

1. The pay is insufficient, and it seems like they know it. One of the perks they talk about when you interview is the ability to hold a part-time job outside the company or work at an English camp over the summer for extra money. 2. Questionable ethics. If the staff decide to replace an ALT, they find a replacement before informing the person being replaced. This is particularly problematic because: A) employees are expected to live in company housing, so being let go also means being evicted, and B) the company has gone so far as to ask applicants to lie about being offered a current ALT's position.
