Pros

Great place to work. Not a great place if you're looking for a future.

Cons

The infrastructure of the company is poor. It all seemed to be barely being held together.

Pros

Oliver's Market is a friendly employer with local roots. Full-time employees are taken care of very well with a great health benefits package and a 401k program. To the company your future as an employee "matters". All Oliver's employees receive a 10% discount on any purchases excluding alcohol and tobacco. The company started a "wellness program" that encourages all employees to lead a healthy and happy lifestyle and the variety of organics is unparalleled in any other supermarket around Sonoma County. From farm to table with little in between (excluding conventional items). For the most part all co-workers are helpful and friendly. Customers are well taken care of and many return as patrons. THANK YOU TO ALL OLIVER'S MARKET PATRONS FOR SUPPORTING YOUR LOCAL GROCER. YOUR OPINION IS THE ONE THAT MATTERS. If any customer requires products that aren't available, finds their experience unpleasant or would just wish to compliment, all stores have a customer service dropbox located at the front end.

Cons

As with any corporate setting upper management can be blind to the "daily operations". You are thoroughly convinced that "your opinion matters" and you will be heard. "Lower level" employees are disregarded/written off as senseless and couldn't possibly have a bright idea even if it poked them in the eye. A lot of employees have special skill sets that are overlooked and many are restricted from operating at maximum potential because of arrogant management.

Pros

health program incentive programs - additional discounts bonus deals with local vendors

Cons

We also support employees in their life goals and special scheduling whenever possible . . . if you have a kid. Or you are in school. "We believe that our employees work to live, not live to work." so why do most employees work 2 jobs just to get by?
