Pros

- if you're in sales you get whatever you want at the expense of everyone else's job/sanity in the company - choose your own schedule

Cons

- hostile work environment - offers zero coaching, mentor-ship, or training - very quick to give unwarranted negative quarterly reviews without warning - frequently involved in lawsuits over compensation - management just does not care about their people, except sales if you perform - not uncommon to be tasked with impossible expectations

On Q Financial is a continuously growing company that looks to its employees to further that growth. We’ve grown every year since our 2005 inception from 12 employees to over 600+ today. Our great people and culture are the primary drivers of our growth. As seen by your comments, you’re a negative nelly who is a poor performer. Thank you for exiting and making us stronger. Speaking of strong, that’s strong of you to be a negative nelly and not disclose your name. We know why – Employers aren’t interested in hiring negative people who don’t value the customer, and complain about being held to minimum standards. This is a great place for those who are drivers and want to be on the best team.

Pros

On Q was a good company that was up and coming in the lending market. Ever since the CFO has taken over as COO, On Q has gone downhill. The CFO is not user friendly. The CFO is always beating up employees by turning them against their managers/supervisors. He tries to get us to turn on the manager so he can replace them. The CFO is all about the employees finding ways to reduce cost. After you have found ways to save cost he still beats you up to get cost even further lower. On Q does not hire the best. They hire employees who they can pay less than the best. On Q has extremely high turnover. They will hire and then layoff or Term employees. The CFO and Owner John so much as let employees go that they could go out and buy new high dollar cars instead of reinvesting in company success. I will be leaving soon. This company I feel is hurting for money, more so when employee turnover is so high. And the turnover has nothing to do with the “industry” standard. Also John needs to show up more to work and manage his company.

Cons

Working here has been really good until the last year. Other than that the company has some pretty good employees working there. They do have some fringe benefits that are cool. Free lunch at end of month. the standard benefits are pretty good.

We appreciate your feedback and take the employee experience very seriously. Based on your feedback, it sounds as if you were happy with On Q until fairly recently so we’re sorry to hear that you will be leaving. Both the CEO and the CFO (On Q does not have a COO) have an open door policy and would have certainly accommodated a conversation to hear your challenges. It may have even given them an opportunity to explain some of your perceptions regarding company cost and turnover as they both take every opportunity to educate employees on the business. Because the employees at On Q are of highest priority, we would encourage you to reach out to OnQlistens@onqfinancial.com with any specific information you would like to offer to improve the employee experience for others. Best of luck to you!

Pros

This used to be a great place to work. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Since the loss of the SR VP of Operations 3 years ago, who passed away from a heart attack most likely brought on by the tremendous stress of the job and then the COO leaving last year, this company took a nose dive. The owner of the company is an egotistical jerk, the CFO is the same and together, they are like 2 kids in junior high running this business. If you are in sales, this is the place for you. If you are in operations, run for your life. This company boasts an estimated 600 employees. What they forget to mention is that at any given time, an estimated 200 employees leave this place, an estimated 1/3 of the work force. In just the last few weeks, a SR Manager resigned, a closer of 9+ years resigned, several UW staff including one that had been there 7+ years resigned, 2 in HR resigned, the list goes on and on. Management writes people up for no reason on a regular basis, micro manages to a fault, and has no clue about what it takes to actually get the job done, setting the majority of employees up to fail and then calling them sub par. I also noticed that when a negative review is written, instead of taking the review to heart and actually doing something about it, they attack with a negative nelly comment and employee sub par attack on the reviewer. I also noticed that almost immediately after a negative review, a "good" review is posted to offset any negative reviews that are made and if you notice, almost always this "good" review is by a sales position reviewer still employed at the company.

Cons

Decisions are made on whether management likes you, not if you can actually do the job. Insurance coverage is terrible with high premiums. No 401k match. Owner makes comments about having too many "mature employees " ( I guess this is the politically correct way of saying older employees) which makes insurance rates high, so cannot do 401k match, etc. Sales is always right, even when operations proves they are wrong. The majority of the sales people have no clue what they are doing, are rude and abusive and nothing is ever done about it. Managers throw you under the bus. It is basically every person for themselves in most departments.
