Pros

OnBoard has been pushing boundaries and expanding services, which is, of course, a testament to the company's growth and vision. The people I work with are all great. Intelligence and dedication is not lacking.

Cons

Now that the dust has settled from the JMI investment, the pressure on the existing workforce has reached unprecedented levels. The expectation to achieve more (and more, and more, and more) with the same resources is a constant presence. It never ends. It feels like we're running in a perpetual marathon, and burnout has continued to be a prevalent topic of discussion for the individual contributors at OnBoard. While the company touts its dedication to work-life balance, reality often paints a different picture. We're not robots, we're humans. Us individual contributors are being abused. Upper management is either not seeing it, or is turning a blind eye to it. Also, despite the relentless effort and dedication, the compensation packages haven't kept pace with the company's growth ambitions or the industry standards (even though they keep telling us that they're very competitive in the market).

Pros

Flexible work arrangements, remote work options, and a above average work-life balance, and pretty good benefits.

Cons

They have been purchased by the private equity firm JMI Equity. Their focus clearly seems to be on generating high returns within a short period. As a result, this has lead to a prioritization of short-term profits over long-term sustainability and development. SDR being the most entry level position for onboard, JMI’s strategy becomes apparent as you are offered an extremely low compensation package for the role that consist of a 40k Base and 50k OTE. While you do receive inbound leads, your lead quantity is completely dependent upon the vertical you are place in. That said, certain industries will not have to make an outbound call and exceed their quota while other verticals struggle to come close. Lastly, there is virtually no career development and a lack of transparency from leadership. Also, There are limited opportunities for advancement within the company as you are working in a overpopulated department in an entry level position. If you seek new challenges and chances to develop your skills, these opportunities are lacking, and I would look for them elsewhere.

Pros

People, friendly work environment, flexible work schedule, no micro managers, the co-workers are best part of the company excluding management.

Cons

Lack of communication for management, management is never in office, raises and promotions are not fair, have be in the in group to get respect.

This is unfortunate that you don't find all these positives to count for much. It seems your experience with the management team has been a poor one. I encourage you to come and talk to me or to your manager or anyone in the leadership team. While more than half of the leadership team has been folks who have risen up the ranks - I will look closely at how much of a divide there really is in a small 50 people team. Thank you for your contributions and suggestions. If you want a graceful exit option - feel free to stop by my office!
