Pros

Office was nice and clean, fresh fruit and healthy snacks were provided, discount on clothing, dogs in the office were welcome.

Cons

Great place if you are a personality hire and thrive off of toxicity and toxic workplaces. For starter, not only was I given zero induction and training, but also there was zero communication to me when I first started my role, so naturally I was set up for failure. My skills and talent were completely disregarded and on top of that I was asked to perform tasks that had nothing to do with my job description or expertise with the excuse of “Well, you have to find a solution for it…” in a stroppy manner from seniors. With every event or pop-up that was happening you would get asked to work a lot of long hours, loading, unloading, organising stuff, etc and then get a simple pat on the back and off to the next stress-inducing event where you had to tolerate someone’s bad temper and inability to handle the consequences of their own inadequacy. The environment was incredibly toxic, all stemming from the Founder Krissy, whose image on Social media is all about female empowerment, but behind closed doors is nothing of the sort. All in all, I had an unpleasant experience, with having a lot of days leaving work with a lump in my throat and being made to feel like I wasn't wanted there.

The most toxic working environment ever experienced

Pros

- The team themselves are amazing - Nice office - Some fun perks

Cons

Working at Oner Active may appear to be a dream opportunity, but in reality, it was the most challenging and disheartening experience of my career. Initially, the prospect of working closely with Co-Founder Krissy Cela seemed exciting, but it quickly turned into a nightmare. The work environment is unbelievably tense, and staff are frequently subjected to verbal abuse, belittled, and overworked. It's not uncommon to be made to feel incapable of performing your role - sometimes explicitly told so. In one particularly demeaning instance, I was even asked, “Are you stupid?” This kind of treatment fosters fear, as employees brace themselves for the next outburst, creating a volatile and toxic atmosphere. Morale plummets whenever Krissy is present. Unfortunately, management appears unwilling or unable to intervene, likely due to fear of becoming her next target. Krissy's behavior is manipulative, and she often plays favorites, building some team members up only to abruptly tear them down, leaving them feeling demoralized and inadequate. These mind games, combined with an overwhelming workload and unrealistic expectations, leave employees drained, undervalued, and emotionally devastated. Krissy is not who you think she is from what she portrays on Social Media, she's all about female empowerment when in reality, tearing other women down makes her feel powerful. The lies and fabrication of her personal story is endless and concerning. It’s apparent that Krissy is aware of the negative feedback shared here. In a recent Instagram story, she attempted to justify her behavior, claiming, “I’m not a chilled person. Some people might describe me as aggressive, but I’m just blunt. It’s part of my Albanian culture; every Balkan woman I’ve met is the same, it can sound like we're arguing with you but we're just talking.” Let me be clear: being emotionally abusive and manipulative is not a cultural trait — it’s a leadership failure. Being a narcissist is not a cultural trait - it means you need help. Throughout my career I've never cried so much and been put down so many times. When I left, I was so affected by my experience that I slipped into a depression and was left feeling completely incapable of any job I was offered. It took me 8 months to recover and when I finally found a new job, I was left with PTSD and was constantly worried that I would be screamed at at any moment. If you value your mental health, I strongly advise avoiding Oner Active. The toxic environment starts at the top, and without serious change (Krissy leaving), it’s unlikely to improve.

Avoid Narcissistic Management

Pros

The team is full of talented and hardworking individuals, and the office location is great with a pleasant workspace. However, when the founder Krissy Cela isn’t around, the atmosphere is more positive; otherwise, it’s a challenging environment.

Cons

It’s disappointing to see such incredible people constantly overworked and burnt out. The culture here is highly toxic and unhealthy, primarily stemming from one of the co-founders, Krissy Cela. She is often rude and unprofessional, treating staff in ways that verge on bullying. Mental health doesn’t appear to be a genuine priority, and although there are claims of support, it feels performative. She frequently asserts her authority in ways that negatively impact the team morale, disrupting what could otherwise be a collaborative atmosphere. The company embodies a classic “Instagram vs. Reality” scenario. A significant amount of time is spent projecting an image online, but the reality is chaotic, with founder involved in only a fraction of their actual responsibilities yet taking all the credit. Team presentations often go ignored, with staff left struggling to communicate amidst ongoing drama and disorganization. Opportunities for improvement are rare, and the company’s direction only seems to worsen. High turnover is common, with staff leaving under strange circumstances, making it hard not to wonder, “Am I next?” The strategies are unclear, and the disarray is exhausting.

Hey! Thank you for sharing your perspective, we’re sorry to hear that your time at Oner Active left you feeling this way. We take feedback like this seriously, especially when it touches on such important issues as employee well-being, leadership, and culture. Creating a consistent environment where everyone feels respected, heard, and supported is very important to us and is something we are actively always working on. While we are proud of the passion and talent within our team, we know that we must pair that with a culture of trust, transparency, and care. We understand how damaging it can feel when the internal experience doesn’t match what’s presented externally, and we’re committed to doing the work needed to close that gap. That includes listening more, learning from the feedback we receive, and continuing to evolve as a team and as a brand. We wish you the very best moving forward.
