Pros

People think you’re cool for working here If you’re friends with Hector you get to have a cushy life signed as a content creator and watch the 9-5 employees below you work their tails off to no means to an end. You can even complain about having meetings on his podcast!

Cons

This org is a parasite to anything that tries to help it. You don’t matter unless you have a tacky OpTic chain around your neck. Everyone that isn’t in Hector’s inner circle is and will be expendable. You will not have any job security despite how good you are at your job or how hard you work. How this org is run by someone who consistently fails in business yet has thousands of rabid blind followers that can’t see him doing any wrong is beyond me. It trickles down to the lower employees. We do the brunt of the work and watch Hector and Bros reap the benefits. Working here feels cool for a while but it quickly dissipates once you realize the glaring issues. It would have been easier to join an actual circus. Save yourself the time. It’s not even worth the resume filler. You will either be crushed by the frat house politics or be laid off.

Pros

Very dedicated and hard working individuals at the lower tiers. The content is cool because one person runs it.

Cons

OpTic has jumped from host to host (company to company) like a parasite. Gaslighting is a common theme from senior management/C suite. Senior management does not know how to scale teams and employees, lacking true and effective leadership and leaving no room for career advancement. Titles have little meaning here. Senior leadership provides false pretenses and reek of instability. No creative freedom. CEO Hector does not believe in a Human Resources or a Marketing department. C suite is not equipped with proper experience, tools, knowledge, and direction, to bring this company to be stable, profitable, and sustainable. Senior leadership is incompetent. They waste thousands of dollars on failed projects and in return cannot properly compensate their employees. Nepotism and favoritism play a role, bringing culture to be very cult-like, fostering toxicity. Hence the many rounds of layoffs here regarding Envy employees. Employees are constantly overworked and burnt out. OpTic is a façade, it’s fake. They make it seem like it’s the best place to work and best org to be a fan of from the outside looking in, but they only truly care about themselves. Company’s internal decisions indefinitely do not align with their outward values. Senior leadership lacks accountability and direction due to their poor decision-making and inflated egos. High turnover rate for lower level staff. Senior leadership exploits hourly employees. OpTic is an inevitable sinking ship.
