Pros

Great colleagues, acceptable if you're looking to switch careers, are prepared to learn independently, and live low-cost for a while.

Cons

Mediocre management. Despite hours spent in meetings, that they consider "work", they can't manage to develop any clear vision, strategy, or at least a specific direction for the next 3 months. Non-existing project management, no proper planning, no alignment, ignorance, and patronization. Many failed or unfinished projects, never go through any review to at least learn from their mistakes. Never listen to ideas or suggestions coming from the bottom of the organization, very strong hierarchy where only people very close to the CEO are considered worthy to be listened to at all. The CEO himself is completely stuck with his old ideas that once in a while are getting recycled in a different form. After time you feel like going in circles, redoing the same things repeatedly, even when they didn't work in the past. The number of lies and how well they are being spread is just very sad evidence of the delusions they are trapped in. The friendly atmosphere after time turns out to be abusive and dishonest and is used to take advantage of people. No clear career path, no feedback culture, low salaries, and no experienced professionals that you could learn from. Lots of wasted potential, the best people are never appreciated, because if you can't be manipulated there's no place for you there. Overall toxic and unprofessional, focused on power over performance or innovation. No wonder why the company goes nowhere.

Poor management handling

Pros

A company that offers the chance to develop as a professional to the right people, under the right circumstances.

Cons

Management handling often looked like driven by improvisation and lack of senior knowledge about the issues of a company with the ambition to grow and become a key actor in the sector. Work environment quickly developed to extreme pressure and lack of understanding of the complexity of major issues.

Terrible management -- too bad as the rest of the team is great!

Pros

- colleagues are very friendly & sociable - colleagues have impressive CVs, showcasing advanced skills set acquired from prior work experience at reputable firms - nice modern office, plenty of space, casual dress code - exposure to a lot of technical areas = opportunity for on-the-job training

Cons

- Management discuss and make (subjective) decisions behind closed doors, without consulting relevant team members (ex: strategy) or in-house experts. - Management completely overestimate their own knowledge & capabilities (technical + soft skills) - Management need to delegate effectively AND trust their delegates. They often challenge for the sake of it (unnecessary details, rhetorical questions,...), and systematically set impossible deadlines. - Management calls & emails on your private phone day & night, + weekends and holidays. 95% of requests could wait, but they always demand the answer immediately. - Employees do not trust management: they show no empathy, withhold most company information, and do not communicate internal matters well or even truthfully (ex: when employee leave). - Management asks for feedback but has never addressed any of the points - no training, no training plan, no talent management - HR is focused on recruiting only. It is a shame as the talent pool on site is incredible and could be leveraged easily. - No benefits provided (pensions, gym, free fruit, etc)
