Horrendous Leadership and poor treatment of staff

Salary and benefits are amongst the best in the area - but this is for a reason

Cons

The leadership team are loudly boasting about their commitment to wellbeing. This isn't translated into how some of the leadership team communicate and treat their teams. Our team was subjected to mental abuse, inducing anxiety, stress, and questioning over ability to do anything.

Free parking, reasonable benefits package, some nice and friendly knowledgeable people.

Cons

Over controlling senior management, often leading to reasonable and fresh ideas being over-ruled by "we've always done it that way" mentality. Limited career scope, you'll be worked to the bone with little remorse, and there is a blame culture that is alive and well. Terribly poor job descriptions, with roles and responsibilities blurred will have you scratching your head and leads to friction within the department almost daily. You have to be prepared to be constantly undermined, and cut out of things you should be involved in... with direction of projects changing almost daily.

It is good to see that our staff and benefits have been commented on positively as we're proud of both the commitment and enthusiasm that our employees bring to their roles. To reply to your comments about job descriptions, we have recently been through a group wide job description review to ensure that all employees are aware of their roles and these are completed in a way that accurately reflects the work they do. In regards to the limited career scope, all of our employees are now part of group wide career development programme that allows employees to have visibility of roles that are available across the Drax Group. Therefore if there are currently no opportunities to broaden your horizons at Opus Energy, you will be able to move within the group. Internal progression and development is an important focus to us and this programme ensures that employees are aware of the opportunities available to them.
