Pros

Supportive & Friendly Culture: The work environment here is genuinely collaborative and welcoming. From day one, you feel like part of a team where everyone is ready to help each other succeed, making it a truly positive place to work every day. True Open-Door Policy: Leadership doesn't just talk about transparency—they practice it. Senior management is incredibly approachable, and there are no rigid corporate barriers. You can pitch ideas, ask questions, and have meaningful discussions with leaders at any level. Empathetic and Supportive Management: As a Project Lead, I feel completely backed by my managers. They trust my decisions, provide the resources my team needs to succeed, and genuinely care about both our project outcomes and our personal well-being. Great Team Synergy: People here are passionate about what they do but maintain a friendly, ego-free attitude. It makes managing projects and collaborating across different departments a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Cons

Nothing to mention as cons.

Pros

I’ve really enjoyed my time at Orangehrm. The ideas from engineers actually get heard instead of dismissed. Management trusts you to own your work. And then collaboration between teams is strong without being bogged down in process. Work life balance is respected as a software engineer. Whenever I hit a wall senior engineers promptly made time to help.

Cons

One thing to know going in, the support is great but it’s not a place where you can just say- “I don’t know what to do, tell me what to do,” and have someone do the work for you. The senior engineers will help you get unblocked but they meet you half way. You are excepted to come up with your own ideas as a contributing member.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your time as a Software Engineer with us. We genuinely appreciate your 1–2 years of service and dedication to OrangeHRM! It is fantastic to hear that you felt trusted to own your work and that our collaborative, ego-free engineering culture gave you a platform where your ideas were truly heard. We are also incredibly proud of our senior engineers for always stepping up to help unblock team members while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Pros

Decent amount of R&D. You will be forced to figure things out alone, which builds some resilience. That is the only silver lining.

Cons

Onboarding & Team Culture My onboarding was difficult. The colleague assigned to bring me up to speed was upfront about not wanting to assist, and at one point told me to figure things out myself. I was left out of team communication channels, had routine questions met with dismissive responses, and early mistakes were called out in front of others rather than addressed privately. There was a noticeable sense that QA was viewed as a lesser discipline. Over time this shaped how I was perceived by people who barely knew me, which was a hard position to start from. Management Expectations were intense from day one, including being expected to work through public holidays with no acknowledgment. Raising questions with my manager was usually met with visible frustration rather than guidance, which made it hard to feel safe asking for help. Working Hours Long hours were the norm regularly past midnight, and on multiple occasions through the entire night until around 4 AM, followed by an early commute and a full day in the office. Despite this level of effort, my commitment was still questioned. Equipment New joiners were reportedly given degraded or partially broken equipment as standard practice. I worked with a laptop that had ongoing hardware issues for weeks, and requests for a replacement were declined. HR My interactions with HR felt unprofessional. When I gave notice, the representative seemed unaware of the notice period clearly stated in my contract, and the conversation included inappropriate comments about my previous employer. After leaving, repeated follow-ups requesting a service letter were met with delays and an unhelpful attitude I was dismissed rudely.it was never issued.
