Pros

Great coworkers with talent and drive to create a great product and user experience. Good pay.

Cons

Okay, I want to be 100% clear. I was not laid off or asked to leave. I left on my own after receiving another opportunity. However, during my time there, the company went through a number of layoffs that they disguised by firing people for “poor performance”. They did this to dozens of employees in the past two years. It’s gross. People will often receive little to no prior warning before being let go. They believe they’re doing well and then they’re gone. This is particularly widespread in the product and engineering org where the management team is atrocious. Some might say they have unrealistic expectations but it’s not even that. They genuinely do not know what they’re doing. This is not an exaggeration. I’ve worked at enough other places and seen how Eng teams work. This place is bonkers and toxic. Here is just one example. Eng is not allowed to collaborate. The whole product is built on a bespoke coding language developed by the CTO, which makes coding anything new and managing legacy code a nightmare. This makes not collaborating all the more insane. This is indicative of the larger org dysfunction. At the end of the day, Don’t be fooled by the marketing. This place is absolutely not worth it.

Pros

- Salary ranges are slightly above average - yearly retreats

Cons

- shockingly short average tenure of employees, which stood at just one year. It became clear that the company's management had a concerning habit of terminating employees with very little notice. The disregard for proper termination procedures and the absence of adequate notice periods showcased a severe lack of empathy and professionalism on the part of the management. It was clear that employee welfare and job security were not prioritized, resulting in a demoralized and disheartened workforce. -Management was severely lacking in leadership skills. The lack of clear direction and communication resulted in frequent misunderstandings and conflicting priorities. Important decisions were made without soliciting input from the team, leading to poor implementation and dissatisfaction among employees. Furthermore, management showed a lack of empathy and failed to address concerns raised by staff members, fostering an atmosphere of neglect. - The product failed to live up to the innovative image they portrayed. Despite their claims, it lacked true uniqueness and is a victim to being way too overpriced. In an industry where new competitors emerge daily, offering similar solutions at more affordable rates, it is evident that Orum's market share is at risk. Companies are becoming more cost-conscious, seeking cheaper alternatives, and unless Orum invests in genuine innovation and adjusts its pricing strategy, it is likely that their market presence will diminish significantly.

Pros

-You get to work with some talented people - The product is great - Good benefits & Perks - Company paid travel

Cons

They sell you the dream during interview, but this place is so mismanaged. The leadership here is horrendous and the worst I've ever experienced. There is no foundation, structure, and poor communication in all departments. They have a "no jerks" policy - but all leadership are jerks and just out for themselves. The product is overpriced and won't last in this market. There is zero enablement and onboarding support. They are laying people off behind closed doors and are not being transparent on the reasons. The entire H.R team is fake and untrustworthy. Steer clear from this place, and don't give into the lies or the hype. There's also a ton of favoritism going on. Super Toxic work environment.
