Pros

Colleagues are pretty nice. As are the clients. Food nearby is alright too and the location makes it pretty convenient to escape the hell that your life becomes in this office.

Cons

I'll be fair. Everyone here is human, so quite prone to emotions and mistakes. The reviews here which are imploring you to not join this place aren't because of small things or tiny mistakes or things which are apologised for later. The problem is not so much the lack of anger management (which is annoying in itself) but more the blatant ego that takes up the entire oxygen of this place (lol) and leaves everyone either suffering by suffocation or as zombies who no longer have the need for it. Phrases like "I can do this so much better" "Who are you to tell me what is right" "I have no formal training but I'm so much better at this" "I started this company from scratch I know what clients want better than anyone else" are heard on a regular basis, ensuring that anyone who works here feels like the gum scraped off the bottom of a shoe. There is extreme disrespect for the employees, and so much money-mindedness its a miracle anyone actually stays for as long as they do. Its not even like they are paid a lot so that they will tolerate the extreme insanity. Unless they're paid for the positive reviews here - that would sure explain why people are writing them. The bosses are fine as people. They just do not have any idea how to manage employees or speak to them or treat them, which is why the turnover is so high in this place, and those who stay do it out of sheer laziness/desperation/Stockholm syndrome. Those who come back, do it because they know this place is always hiring, not because they think this place is better. It isn't about the long hours. Every agency has long hours, even the one I am working at right now has long hours, and everyone knows that a lack of a work-life balance sometimes comes with the territory. That is not the problem. The problem is how the employees are treated, DESPITE the amount of sheer effort that is put into the work every day.

Pros

The designers, illustrators and writers are really talented, and they're great long-term friends.

Cons

Seen more people come and go than the transit terminal at the airport. Meetings HAVE to be face-to-face on Whatsapp video call because the management gets "anxiety". How ironic considering they don't believe in mental health. Tries to pit colleagues against each other by badmouthing them behind their back, and pretending to be their friend at the same time. Refuses to take responsibility for their mistakes. Doesn't trust the team. Unfair payment practices. Staff have to do overtime till the wee hours of the morning, and they're not paid. Sometimes lunch breaks are sacrificed for "panic calls" that overrun. In short, I hope anyone who is lured by the $3k to $5k advertisement checks this glassdoor ad and runs the other way. I had PTSD from the way they run the company and that stupid ringtone.

Most appallingly incompetent owners you will meet

Pros

On the ground staff who actually know what they are doing, who work incredibly hard (only for their self esteem and credit to be taken away any chance the bosses get) TRUST THE REVIEWS, save your time and months of your life and apply elsewhere. There are no pros.

Cons

Zero system. Zero consistency. Everything is case by case, so they literally hold ANYTHING against you according to their mood. Pay discrepancy is MAD. please do your research before agreeing with their offer. Terribly incompetent and unintelligent bosses, who believe that every word out of their mouth is godlike, without realising that their staff truly, honestly, does not respect nor harbor any loyalty to them whatsoever. They hold salaries over your head, they make grand promises that they feel no remorse for not keeping, they go back on their word SO OFTEN that staff dont trust anything they say. They live in a fantasy world and spin stories about how hard they 'worked' to get to where they are, when in reality they sorely lack any real talent and sadly are too unintelligent to know when to keep quiet. Pointless micro management and insane rules. They're so paranoid about staff talking among themselves that they insist to be involved in every conversation. Even private conversations are 'discouraged' as 'they need to make sure staff are not spreading lies'. All they expect from management is for them to tell tales on their staff, so they know who to weed out for being 'disloyal'. They harp on any good thing they ever do, and divulge personal information to all staff in order to push their narrative - 'you see I even visited him in hospital over the weekend even though I didn't need to, I did it because I am a good boss you know?' This story has been told for many years, and held above that staffs head as a loyalty bargain. 'you know this person, I gave him $xxx raise because he promised me he will work harder leh. I always give and give and never get anything back. I'm really the most poor thing'. Last time I checked, bosses don't go around telling all the staff the EXACT AMOUNT they are paying other staff, or how much of a raise they are giving out. At external meetings, the 2 bosses talk over each other in front of clients, to the point of arguing. They cannot speak English well, but insist on using flowery language to appear more intelligent, but fail miserably and staff are embarrassed to even attend meetings with them (btw, micromanaging is so strong that they don't trust their own staff to attend meetings without one of them present, even though meetings would be very much more productive without them around. Insane). They hide their extreme turnover from clients. They reward the WORST clients by giving in to their every whim as they are too dishonest and spineless, and truly don't give a damn about staff wellbeing. Hours and hours of internal meetings, just sitting around and listening to them drone on about how great they are and tooting their own horns. Stifling an eye roll is a job requirement here. They pay for loyalty. They don't respect any single person they cannot manipulate and control. They don't respect people with integrity and honor. They do not value the truth. They are biased to the highest degree. If you join, join for the salary, but don't trust a word they say to you. They spin a great tale for the future when you first start. It goes downhill VERY FAST. If you are a sniveling YES MAN/WOMAN with no morals and integrity, this is the place for you. Please leave the truth at the door when you step into this black hole of flawed logic and dishonest shady practices. and be prepped to wax the bosses behinds, every day you work here. Do not let them convince you that they have been around for so long because THEY work so hard and do everything right. They are still around because they themselves are sniveling yes men who say yes to any single request clients make, at the cost of their own staff. It's client over staff - 100% of the time. There is no exception. They are still around because of the handful of talent they still have that tolerate their abuse. This company is still around DESPITE them, not thanks to them.
