Pros

Pays on time and good incentives.

Cons

This place was a horrible environment. I was in call centre, and we were treated like we were dumber and lesser human beings than everyone else, especially sales reps. The pressure was constant, but we were being given numbers that were years old and had been called relentlessly for this amount of time. They were setting us up to get yelled at and yet still expected a certain amount from us. If you had someone screaming at you to stop calling their number, your manager/supervisor would be over your shoulder pressuring you to make the sale. It's not effective and has stained their business. Customers are pulling out, and they can't generally keep new people longer than 6 months. Also it is an extremely sexist and vulgar environment. Women are treated like they're stupid, and the boys can get away with whatever they want. And if you make a mistake, you will be mocked and taunted for weeks after...maybe even more. Not good.

Pros

I have to admit that OzShut has a good system in place. They are very punctual in paying their employees, no doubt about that.

Cons

1) Very vulgar environment On meetings every Tuesday, it is usually a 2 hour long vulgar fest. Crude and sexual jokes are made about the employees who didn't meet targets or have made mistakes. 2) Pressure selling techniques Basically, when you are sent to a home for a sales appointment, and for whatever reason you are unable to get the order, you will be pressured on the spot by your manager. In fact, they will get you to pressure the customer right in front of you. 3) Lack of integrity I was told by someone in management that the product is patented. Only later on, I found out that it isn't. 4) Extremely high turnover This is a red flag for anyone who wants to join the company. The company has been around for 9 years and the longest sales consultant there is 3.5 years. Most people stay with the company for less than a year. There are recent cases whereby the newly recruited sales consultant left right after their training. 5) Cold working environment While in the office, it is stated in your employment contract that you are not allowed to interact with anyone outside your department. Yes, it is weird. But it is so in OzShut. 6) No career progression If you are thinking of moving up the corporate ladder, there is none with this company. You are hired to do one thing and one thing alone, regardless of which department you belong to.
