Pros
Some of my coworkers are lovely people. SOME of my managers are lovely people. It’s a job that I have and I get a paycheck.
Cons
When I started working here, I thought I’d applied to a bar. Come to find out it’s just industrial 2010’s aesthetic Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Corporate continues to pander to families with small children so it’s no different than any restaurant you’ve ever worked as a server in- you’re a glorified babysitter. Cash isn’t accepted but they host industry nights every Monday, despite most industry employees living off cash tips. Our cash tips are deposited into our bi-weekly paychecks. We don’t get auto-grat for large parties so we get stiffed all the time and corporate refuses to change that. Every decision they make proves that not a single one of them has any experience actually working in the industry. Everything they do and say is so out of touch. No cash, no cash tips, no free redbull despite ridiculous hours. They care more about aesthetics than functionality. So they’ll put new murals on the walls but god forbid they give us funding to fix our eternally broken bowling lanes that are held together by zip ties and gaff tape. But they have no problem raising the prices of everything to “cover the rising costs of maintaining the lanes” that haven’t been maintained by them since 2016. No one ever gets raises, people that work hard don’t get recognized. People that ride the clock get recognized for their hard work regularly. The drama is insane. Everyone’s overworked, underpaid, and dead inside. None of us can afford anything on what they pay us. It gets worse by the day but in this job market, we’re stuck. Spare yourself.
